We decided to make a quick trip to a nearby state park that neither of us had been to. We couldn’t find the parking lot for the main trail that I had been hoping for, but we found a small roadside parking area with a couple of open spaces.

This was actually the first time we’ve had the dogs anywhere that they had to navigate stairs, and once they made it past the first couple they were unstoppable.

Cornbread has come a long way as far as walking on a leash from when we got him, but he still likes to zigzag along the trails for maximum sniffs.  This plus the fact that he is a VERY strong dog made some of the downhill sections a bit interesting.

Dogs love the outdoors. Turkey the whippet has been taken on runs through a nearby national park by my parents at least once a week for a while now and he’s so much happier. They’ve got to get that energy out some way. Looks like a nice relaxing hike.

These two are thrilled to go basically anywhere. When we first got Ruby she was making regular trips with me to Lowe’s, and she still gets excited if we pull into that lot.

Cornbread’s happiest when he gets to meet new people. He even prefers greeting new people over sniffing new dogs. I’m more careful taking him to stores though because he’s clumsy and can be a bit of a wrecking ball.

I like friendly dogs like that. I know what you mean about being a clumsy wrecking ball though.
